U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to deliver remarks on Wednesday about the country's ongoing support for Ukraine, amid reports his administration plans to send M-1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

Ukraine has been asking for the tanks for months amid fighting in the country's disputed east, but the U.S. had resisted the calls for weeks, saying the tank's systems were too complex to operate and maintain.

The anticipated announcement of the M1 tanks comes the same day Germany said it would send 14 of its Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, and approve re-export of Leopards from partner countries like Poland. Germany's authorization had been pushed for by many countries, including Canada.
