Qatar 'unfairly treated and scrutinised', says 2022 World Cup chief exec

Sky, 21 Nov 2021
Qatar has been "unfairly treated and scrutinised", according to the chief executive of the 2022 World Cup.

Speaking to Sky News exactly one year before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar, Nasser al Khater, chief of the organising committee, hit out at the criticism the country has faced.

Organisations, including Amnesty International, have accused the country of failing to protect migrant workers and having a poor record on human rights - but the chief of the organising committee has insisted there has been "a lot of progress".
