The number of police officers and staff being disciplined after abusing their position for sexual purposes has risen sharply.

'Abuse of position for a sexual purpose' currently makes up nearly 60% of investigations by the police watchdog.

In 63 cases misconduct was proven, with six people convicted of a criminal offence.
