A panel of national experts is warning Canada isn't ready to deal with today's growing and complex national security threats, such as cyberattacks and foreign political interference.

This is just not any group of experts. It includes four former national security advisers to prime ministers Justin Trudeau and Stephen Harper as well as two former directors of CSIS.

David Akin explains the shortcomings, and why a major threat may come from the U.S., Canada's closest ally.
