This is a list of all official and recognized foreign interventions since 1945. Every time a country has decided to send its troops of any kind to fight on foreign soil for whatever reason it will appear on this list. The duration of the military engagement is not taken into account, just the initial decision to send troops. Civil wars that are fought solely between internal factions are not included. Border conflicts, where it is unclear which side of the conflict has sent troops abroad are also omitted. Foreign military aid, military advisors, private military outfits are also not included in the list.
