CA, 08 Feb 2021
Myanmar police on Monday warned protesters to disperse or face force shortly after state television signaled impending action to stifle mass demonstrations across the country against a military coup and the arrest of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Police fired a water cannon briefly at protesters in Myanmar's capital of Naypyitaw, who continued to protest after the cannon was deployed.
Later, Myanmar's military ruler Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, gave a televised address on Monday night, his first remarks to the nation since he ousted Suu Kyi's elected government last week.
