Ontario Premier Doug Ford provides update on COVID-19 response | LIVE

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is expected to provide an update on Wednesday about the government's ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic. He will be joined by Minister of Long-Term Care Dr. Merrilee Fullerton and Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano to make an announcement.

Ontario reported 975 new coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing the provincial total to 295,119. The death toll in the province rose to 6,884 as 12 more deaths were reported.

York region, one of Ontario’s long-standing COVID-19 hot spots, returned to the province’s colour-coded system of pandemic restrictions Monday. The stay-at-home order remains in effect only for Toronto, Peel and North Bay-Parry Sound until at least March 8.
