Coronavirus: Canadian health officials provide update on vaccine rollout | LIVE

CA, 05 Mar 2021
Canadian government and health officials are expected to provide an update on the ongoing rollout of COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday.

It comes after the National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommended provinces and territories extend the time between the first and second vaccine doses to four months amid vaccine shortages.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the federal government was extending multiple emergency benefits aimed at helping businesses. He also announced the first doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine had arrived in Canada.

Canada received 500,000 doses of that vaccine, the third approved for use in Canada.
