Texas sea turtles: Thousands of 'cold-stunned' creatures rescued by locals as cold snap hits state

More than 4,700 "cold-stunned" sea turtles have been collected from beaches off the southern coast of #Texas.

Cold-stunned turtles are unable to eat, swim or lift their heads above water when their body temperature drops.
Locals are collecting the turtles and taking them to a convention centre to be kept warm until they are ready to be released back into the wild.
