Brazil’s streets are normally full of colourful festivities, dancing and huge crowds in the run-up to Ash Wednesday as the country celebrates Carnival. But small groups risked breaking the rules and held clandestine parties. Brazil has the second highest number of Covid-related deaths in the world.
