Indonesia’s coronavirus case toll surpassed 1 million on January 26, 2021, after the country reported an additional 13,094 new infections on the day. The nation’s Covid-19 infection total so far reached 1,012,350 as the coronavirus related death toll reached 28,468. The milestone came weeks after Indonesia authorised the emergency use of jabs made by China’s Sinovac Biotech, as Jakarta rolls out a mass vaccination campaign. The global number of coronavirus infections exceeded 100 million on January 27.
