Colton Boushie's mother discriminated against by RCMP, report finds
CA, 21 Mar 2021
An RCMP watchdog has found Mounties in Saskatchewan acted in a racist and discriminatory manner towards the family of Colton Boushie.
In 2016, the Indigenous man was killed when he and four friends drove onto a rural property. That night, officers had to inform Boushie's mother about his death. The family claims she was mistreated.
But an internal investigation cleared the officers and now, three years later, an independent report is siding with the family. RCMP commissioner Brenda Lucki's response is included in the documents, in which she states she largely agrees with the findings. Nathaniel Dove has our top story.
