Thousands of people, including a soon-to-wed couple, have fled their homes in what’s been described as once-in-a-century flooding in Australia. Authorities plan to evacuate thousands more from flood-affected areas on March 22, 2021. The country’s east coast in the state of New South Wales has seen unrelenting rains over the past three days, causing widespread damage. Heavy rains are expected to continue for several days, as the region braces for its worst flooding in 60 years.
