Climate change: UK not prepared for water shortages
Sky, 23 Mar 2021
Environment agencies warn that without contingency plans in place, the UK is vulnerable to water stress and shortages.
The chair of the Environment Agency has told Sky News the UK could see water shortages by 2050 if action is not taken to conserve supplies.
The Agency is urging consumers to be more 'water aware' and use water wisely.
It said water leakage needs to be dramatically reduced and isn't ruling out the possibility that water bills could rise.
Sky's climate correspondent Lisa Holland reports.
