Ontario Premier Doug Ford provides update on COVID-19 response | LIVE

CA, 23 Mar 2021
Ontario Premier Doug Ford, alongside other provincial ministers, is expected to provide an update on the province's COVID-19 measures and vaccine rollout on Monday.

The premier said Friday that over 50 per cent of Ontario seniors aged 80 and older have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and that as a result the province is ahead of schedule in its vaccine rollout. Seniors aged 75 and older would be able to receive their first dose of the vaccine starting Monday.

On Thursday, the premier said the province could loosen some restrictions for Toronto and Peel Region to allow outdoor restaurant dining and fitness while keeping a lockdown in place.

Ontario reported 1,791 cases of the novel coronavirus Sunday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 328,874.
