Indonesia has been racing to find one of its submarines that went missing during a training exercise on April 21, 2021. Oxygen in the KRI Nanggala 402, which was carrying 53 people on board, is expected to run out on Saturday. Officials have reported an oil slick and the smell of diesel fuel near the submarine’s dive location. More than 20 navy ships, two additional submarines and five aircraft have been deployed in the search. Malaysia and Singapore have also sent crews to help with the rescue operation.
