A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison in Hong Kong under the national security law for Hong Kong which took effect on June 30 last year. 24-year-old Tong Ying-kit was found guilty of terrorist activities and inciting others to commit secession. Tong rode a motorcycle with a flag bearing a "Hong Kong independence" slogan into police lines on July 1 last year, which caused serious injuries to three police officers.
