Beijing has reported its first case of the omicron variant. It's the first local transmission in the Chinese capital. The discovery comes less than three weeks before the Beijing Olympic Winter Games. The first omicron case in mainland China was detected in December. Since then many cities in China have asked residents to stay at home and launched mass testing. China has kept coronavirus cases low with its Zero COVID policy.
