Germany elections: Immigration debate dominates campaigns

For years, immigration has been a hot topic in Germany.
To those on the far right of the political divide, the arrival of more than a million refugees from Syria in 2015 was a step too far.
But many on the left see migrants as a solution to Germany’s ageing population.
With just two weeks left until the general election, it is not certain what the German elections will mean for refugees leaving Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
