Shot, raped, tortured: MP reveals plight of stranded Afghans as Boris Johnson is grilled on crisis

Telegraph, 07 Sep 2021
Boris Johnson was grilled by MPs in the House of Commons on Monday about the UK’s response to the crisis in Afghanistan.

Labour MP Chris Bryant warned that one of the Afghans he is seeking to help has been shot, another has been raped and a third person has been tortured.

The Labour chairman of the home affairs committee added that there is a “rumour circulating” that some places on the resettlement scheme have already been allocated “and the scheme is almost full”, which the Prime Minister denied.
