The Taliban announce a caretaker cabinet for their keenly awaited government for Afghanistan. The announcement comes more than three weeks after the Islamists took the capital Kabul unopposed, and US-led troops pulled out of the country. The Taliban have pledged to establish what they say would be an inclusive government.
While the Taliban faced little military opposition when they reconquered Afghanistan, but opposition among civilians remains. DW also reports on the anti-Taliban protests earlier in Kabul.
