Beijing has hit back at a U.S. government report that criticizes China's human rights record. The report, titled "2021 Congressional Report Pursuant to the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act," accuses China of "committing genocide and crimes against humanity, against Uygurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang." Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian cited numerous crimes U.S. committed in violating human rights at home and abroad, and said, "The U.S. is in no position to criticize other countries' human rights conditions."
