Bolivian coca leaf growers storm market after week-long dispute
Al Jazeera, 06 Oct 2021
A group of farmers has taken control of Bolivia’s largest coca market by force.
Members of the Yunga community fought police and government-backed rivals, before storming into the marketplace in the administrative capital, La Paz.
They say they are the rightful owners of the country's coca trade and unacceptable working conditions have forced them to protest.
Al Jazeera’s Laura Burdon-Manley reports.
