Rishi Sunak to announced a £500m drive to get older Britons back into work.
One of the key beneficiaries of the plan will be people aged between 50 and 64 who lost their jobs during the Covid pandemic.
It comes as the Chancellor opened the door to council tax rises to pay for social care, and failed to rule out an income tax rise, ahead of his speech to the Conservative Party conference today.
