Early data from Israel, where 20% of its population have been vaccinated with the Pfizer jab, suggests it could lead to a 33% decline in infections among the over-60s just two weeks after the group were vaccinated.

While COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of serious disease, this new data gives hope that infection rates can be cut.
