Boris Johnson admits lobbying 'boundaries not properly understood' amid Greensill scandal

Telegraph, 14 Apr 2021
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has told MPs in the House of Commons that lobbying boundaries were not "properly understood".

Labour leader Keir Starmer asked the Prime Minister whether he believed the current lobbying laws were fit for purpose.

It comes after a watchdog has revealed a senior civil servant was granted permission to join the lender Greensill Capital while still working at the highest levels of government.

An independent review into Greensill and lobbying by Mr Cameron will examine the revelations regarding Mr Crothers' dual role, a Cabinet Office spokesman said on Tuesday night.

Mr Johnson says he shares concerns about "some of the stuff we are reading at the moment", as does the Cabinet Secretary.
