Greater Manchester Police have uncovered a "huge" cannabis farm worth an estimated £5 million in a four-story warehouse in the middle of Manchester city centre.

The haul was discovered by officers after they were called to the warehouse on Heyrod Street, near Manchester Piccadilly Station, on Monday April 12.

It came after a member of the public found and reported several bags of suspected drugs at around 5:30am on Monday morning.

The police forced their way into the depot and discovered 4,000 plants over the four floors in the warehouse.

Officers are yet to make any arrests.
