A massive service outage by Rogers on Monday left wireless customers across Canada unable to make calls, send text messages or access the internet.

The company said a recent software update was to blame for the wave of wireless outages affecting Canadians on Monday.

The outages began early Monday morning, affecting phone, SMS and internet services, while TV, home and business wireline Internet, and home phone services were not impacted by the outages.

Most reports stemmed from Ontario, but also impacted provinces from B.C. to Prince Edward Island.
