Portugal decision will support June 21 reopening, says Robert Jenrick

Telegraph, 04 Jun 2021
Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick, told LBC that quickly adding Portugal to the UK's 'amber list' was a cautious move that will support the decision for further reopening on 21 June.

Portugal lost its 'green list' status, and will move to amber next week, meaning it will no longer be a quarantine-free holiday destination for UK citizens.

Seven countries have also been added to the UK’s red list, following the latest review of the Government’s ‘traffic light’ system.

Arrivals from the following countries will need to spend 10 days in isolation in a quarantine hotel, at a cost of up to £1,750 per person: Egypt, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Bahrain, Sudan, Trinidad and Tobago and Afghanistan.
