Cooler spring weather in Canada could mean longer-lasting tulips this year

CA, 08 May 2021
Nothing says spring like a tulip in bloom! Now that spring has sprung, tulip festivals are popping up across the country. The Canadian Tulip Festival takes place May 14-24 and it will be online this year.

The festival was originally established to celebrate the historic royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to the Canadians immediately after the Second World War as a symbol of international friendship.

Tulips typically only bloom for a few days, but this year's cooler spring weather in Canada will mean they could last up to one to two weeks in total.
