Nasa’s Mars helicopter ‘Ingenuity’ to attempt first flight from April 11

Nasa's small Mars helicopter will attempt the first ever powered flight on the red planet.

If successful Ingenuity will be fly through Mars' thin atmosphere on a pre-programmed flight path, taking pictures of its surroundings, before landing on the surface again.

The milestone could pave the way for aircraft to be taken to Mars, which would allow scientists to remotely explore the red planet faster than rovers.
