Sinkholes fill Turkey’s drought-stricken farmland

Sinkholes dot the breadbasket of the Turkish plains, worrying farmers as they multiply and creep closer to residential homes. Dizzyingly deep, they open up when underground caverns created by drought can no longer contain the weight of the layer of soil above.
