Africa Weekly : South Africa diamond rush, Ethiopia prepares for key vote

This week in Africa Weekly, thousands of South Africans rush to dig for diamonds after a mystery discovery. In Ethiopia, political parties have held their last rallies ahead of elections that were postponed twice, but the war and famine in the Tigray region draw more attention. Algeria recorded a record low turnout in parliamentary elections, a sign of growing apathy towards the political establishment. Lastly, we head to Sudan, where a small Jewish community is hoping that improved ties with the state of Israel will result in greater tolerance at home.
