Texas school shooting: Biden delivers remarks on elementary school shooting | LIVE

CA, 25 May 2022
U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to make remarks at the White House on Tuesday following a shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas that left 14 students and one teacher dead according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

The district chief of police Pedro “Pete” Arredondo said during a press conference that the suspect is also dead, noting they are believed to have acted alone during the “heinous” crime.

Arredondo called the shooting a "mass casualty incident" and said families are being notified. The school has just under 600 students enrolled.

Returning from a presidential trip to Asia, Biden was briefed on the shooting aboard Air Force One, according to the White House.

It's been one week since Biden addressed another mass shooting when he traveled to Buffalo to meet with the families of 10 people killed at a grocery store there during a racially motivated attack.
