“It is time to turn this pain into action”.
That is the message from US President Joe Biden after 19 young children and two adults were killed in a school shooting in Texas.
The assault by a lone teenage gunman is the deadliest at an American school in a decade.
The 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde before he was killed by law enforcement, officials said.
Investigators say the suspect was armed with a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and high-capacity magazines.
Once again the attack prompted calls for greater gun control across the US.
