UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has praised the scientists behind the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, after the country became the first in the world to approve its use.

“The scientists have done it," he said in a televised press conference, adding that he hoped it would play a vital role in enabling the country to “return to much closer to normal by the spring”.
